Iconic Performance Cycle is a motorcycle and power sports repair shop along with an in-house engine machine shop located in Newfoundland (West Milford) New Jersey just off of Rt-23.  We work on all aspects of most motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs, UTVs, and SxSs.  Along with the general repair of all of these, we also specialize in engine and cylinder rebuilding within our own in-house machine shop.

When we first opened our shop in Mahwah NJ we found that sending out cylinder heads to be machined and being at the mercy of these other machine shop’s schedules was greatly delaying the turnaround time for our repairs to be completed.  We had no machine shops in our region that could properly work on these small motorcycle cylinder heads and get them back to us in a timely manner. We decided to use our past experience of working in engine machine shops to open up our own in-house machine shop in our new West Milford location.

At the IPC shop, quality is our number one priority.  We take great pride in our work and cutting corners is not in our blood.  Whether it is a simple repair on an old machine or a high-end build of your pride and joy, we make sure it is done to the highest standards.

Bret is one of our owner-operators at our shop. He built IPC from the ground up in 2015 in Mahwah, NJ. He started his automotive career working at a popular engine machine shop in the area.  Bret enjoyed that type of work and excelled quickly and by the time he left there, he was running the cylinder head department of that shop.  After that, Bret became a fleet mechanic for a large plumbing company and learned all aspects of automotive repair, welding, fabrication, and more.  Even before these jobs, Bret could be found in the basement tinkering on lawn equipment and souping up his moped. Bret always had a desire for motorcycles and off-road bikes.  After owning a few and doing some side work for people, he thought it was something that he would like to do on a larger scale and decided to turn his knowledge and passion into a business.  When Bret is not working, he can be found spending time with his family or riding his dirt bike somewhere in the woods.

Kevin is another one of our owners and operators at our shop and the father of Bret. He joined the journey in 2020 when we were building our new garage in West Milford. Kevin has been working in the automotive industry his entire working career and as a kid was always taking things apart to figure out how they work and then putting them back together.  He also spent portions of his career working in engine machine shops, fleets, and general repair shops.  Kevin enjoys spending his spare time relaxing at home and restoring antique cars and tractors.

Both Bret and Kevin have a naturally high level of “figure it out” skills.  You can be assured that they will be honest and fair in the evaluation of every job. There is not much that they will turn away from doing, even if they have never done it before.  Both work with a very high standard of quality and precision.
